Enhancing Premium Shirt Stitching with Quality Thread and Stitch Count

When it comes to buying men's shirts online, the quality of stitching is one of the most important factors to consider. A well-stitched shirt not only looks great but also lasts longer. The thread used in stitching plays a crucial role in the overall quality of the shirt. In this blog, we will discuss the role of quality thread and the number of stitches for premium shirt stitching.

Types of Threads

There are different types of threads available for stitching shirts, including mix threads, cotton threads, and polyester threads. However, the highest quality threads are 100% cotton threads. These threads are heavily dyed and then color fixed to ensure colour-fastness. Moreover, cotton threads are available in different thicknesses, with the thinnest one being the highest quality thread count of 68 by two. When a shirt is stitched with this thread, it almost looks invisible on the fabric. On the other hand, lower-quality threads are thicker, with a count of 45 by two or 50 by two.

Quality Stitching Starts with Quality Thread

The first step towards quality stitching is using the right type of thread. The quality of the thread depends on its thickness and dye. The high-quality threads are thinner and work better on the machines. Moreover, they look more invisible on the fabric when stitched, simply because their width is thinner. The second part of the thread that needs to be assessed when stitching a shirt is the number of stitches per inch (SPI).

Number of Stitches per Inch (SPI)

SPI is a crucial factor in determining the quality of stitching. Only very thin threads with a count of 65 by two or 68 by two can have more than 18 stitches per inch. So, if the SPI is high on a particular shirt, it is known as high-quality stitching. The ideal SPI for a high-quality stitched shirt is more than 20 stitches per inch. This makes the lines appear fine, like a pencil drawn by a ruler, and does not hurt the eyes of the viewer.

Importance of Quality Stitching

Quality stitching is essential for dress shirts for men, especially for formal shirts in Pakistan. The stitching of a shirt plays a significant role in its overall appearance, and a well-stitched shirt is a mark of sophistication and style. Quality stitching not only looks great but also ensures the longevity of the shirt. The hold of the thread is crucial as it holds the two pieces of fabric together. The more stitches you have, the stronger the two separate pieces of fabric will be held together without reshaping.

Branded Formal Shirt Stitching

A branded shirt especially a white formal shirt is a staple in every man's wardrobe. It is versatile and can be worn on different occasions. However, a poorly stitched white formal shirt can ruin your entire look. Therefore, it is essential to pay attention to the quality of stitching when buying a formal shirt. A high-quality stitched formal shirt will not only look great but also last longer.
